Joel Brown will present and reenact the story of George Bonga, a legendary fur trader. George Bonga was born to an African-American father and an Ojibwe mother, and is believed to be one of the first people of Africn-American descent born in Minnesota. Mr. Brown will also touch on the early days of the territory and the history of fur trading in Minnesota from the mid 1600s to the mid 1800s, when Quebecois was the common language. Joel Brown will present in an authentic costume of the fur trading era. This is sure to be a fascinating and informative presentation.
