Interested in volunteering at an ARCHEOLOGY DIG?

Come to the shores of Lake Vadnais in Ramsey County!

Join us to learn more about archeology and our region’s history as we continue exploring a site discovered in 2016 containing Native and Euro American artifacts. Archaeologist Jeremy Nienow, PhD., RPA, will lead three weekends of archeological unit excavation: Oct. 14-15, 21-22, & 28-29 from 9am to 3pm.

  • Participants must be able to stoop, use a shovel, and be comfortable outdoors.
  • For full day participants please bring a lunch.
  • Water, sunscreen, bug spray, and gloves provided.
  • Volunteer opportunities are open to six people per day and are FREE.
  • Adults and Kids over 12 are welcome!
  • Bring family and friends.
