Saint Paul City Hall/Ramsey County Courthouse Guided Tours

This guided walking tour includes detailed descriptions of some of the Saint Paul City Hall/Ramsey County Courthouse, a 21-story Art Deco “Skyscraper Style” building that opened in 1932. Ramsey County funded a $48.8 million restoration and addition that was completed in 1995. The project preserved the building’s historic appearance, increased efficiency and refurbished period furniture. The building has 23 kinds of woods from 18 countries and various marbles throughout.

Today the building continues to house several county and city offices and serves as the main location for Minnesota’s Second Judicial District.

Tours include the Vision of Peace statue, Memorial Hall (dedicated to all Ramsey County war veterans who lost their lives), Council Chambers, Mayor’s Office, Law Library, historical courtroom, lower level with etched glass display and much more.

Please note this is a working building; not all rooms are available to tour at all times.

Public tours are available every Monday from 12:15 – 1:15 p.m.
The Ramsey County Historical Society provides 60 to 90-minute tours for schools, seniors, veterans and others.

Tours are also available upon request by emailing Courthouse Tours or calling 651-222-4786.
