 COMO ARISTONIAN CLUB PAPERS     1919 – 2004

This club was formed from the group of women who had worked rolling bandages for the Red Cross during World War I.  Following the war, many of the women wished to continue their association and created this groups whose motto is “Acquire knowledge and with it get understanding.”  The group was associated with the Minnesota Federation of Women in 1922.  The group continues as a study group, which also makes annual charitable donations.  Material consists of club business records including minutes, member booklets, membership lists, and a scrapbook of events from the inception of this club.  Available for consultation and duplication.

Incarnation Lutheran Church Collection     1904 – 1959

Material consists of  materials related to the church groups and activities of the Missionary Society of Bethany, Sunday school teachers, Moundsview Ladies Aid, and the Evangelical Lutheran Bethania Church of North Oaks.  A few of the minute books and notes are in Swedish.  RONDO ORAL HISTORY PROJECT COLLECTION    2004

This collection of interviews with long-time residents of the Rondo Community describe the neighborhood businesses, churches, schools, and organizations.  The Rondo Community is an urban neighborhood located on the plateau above and west of St. Paul’s downtown commercial district, which was bisected in the 1960s by the construction of I-94, which resulted in the removal approximately 750 homes and 90% of commercial businesses.  These bound interview transcript binders include photographs for each interviewee. Every interview/transcript, except one, available for consultation and duplication.

 SANBORN (General John B.) FAMILY COLLECTION 1860 – 1972

Material consists of a few items relating to General John B. Sanborn’s (1826- 1904) military service and correspondence with him from military personnel and family during that time.  There are three business ledgers relating to his work as a lawyer in St. Paul in the firm Sanborn, French, and Lund (1854–1859).  The remainder relates to his son, Judge John B. Sanborn (1883-1964) and his career and retirement as a Judge in the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit.  Available for consultation and duplication.
