History Revealed: Archaeological Leads

May 16, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Ramsey County Historical Society Presents

Jeremy Nienow: Archaeological Leads and Mysteries of Ramsey County

History Revealed Series
May 16, 2017
Tuesday, 7 p.m.
Ramsey County Library – Roseville

Free and open to all. No reservations needed.

Join RCHS for a new series, History Revealed, featuring the best of local history authors talking about a wide range of topics drawn from the heritage and traditions of Ramsey County.

Throughout the years various individuals have reported archaeological finds and sites to professors, archaeologists, the historical society and others. These pieces of information are typically stuffed into a folder and rarely looked at again. A few of them become “alpha sites” or site leads that archaeologists could one day explore. Join archaeologist Jeremy Nienow as he discusses the alpha sites of Ramsey County, and a potential new program which may take a closer look at some of these. Questions, ideas, and leads of your own are welcome.

Dr. Jeremy Nienow is a passionate cultural resource preservation liaison, consultant and educator, actively pursuing new energies, technologies and projects within local county organizations, higher education, and the professional heritage preservation community, and has taught at public and private higher education institutions throughout the Twin Cities. Currently Dr. Nienow’s archaeological research has been focused on the early hinterlands of the Twin Cities metro area. He owns and operates Nienow Cultural Consultants LLC.
