The Gibbs Museum is an ideal place to celebrate special events. Birthdays & weddings are always treasured memories. Please call 646-8629 for details.

The Gibbs Museum of Pioneer and Dakotah Life is a historic museum interpreting the real life relationship of the Gibbs family and Cloud Man’s band of Dakotah living in the mid 1800’s.The Museum is a popular destination for school groups and summer visitors. It is conveniently located between St. Paul and Minneapolis just north of the state fair grounds in Falcon Heights which provides a scenic back drop for your special event.

 Hours of Operation:
The Gibbs Museum is open to the public Tuesday though Sunday, Noon to 4pm.
Group tours are available by reservation.

After hour events may be scheduled with the site management staff.

 


Facilities:

The Red Barn at the Gibbs Museum provides a cozy atmosphere for meetings, lectures, and receptions. The barn is equipped with restrooms, a preparation room, and electricity. Groups up to 80 can be easily accommodated in the barn. The barn is available from 4pm-12 midnight.

The Courtyard is adjacent to the Red Barn. With a canopy in place the Red Barn and Courtyard provide space for 150-200 guests. Courtyard space is included in Red Barn rental fee.

 The historic buildings and grounds may be available by request and approval only. Additional fees may apply.
 


Parking:

Gibbs
Museum is located on the corner of Cleveland and Larpenteur Avenues in Falcon Heights. There is free on site parking for about 60cars. Other parking arrangements must be made by the user. Catering and entertainment vehicles are allowed to use the Service drive to load and unload for the event.

 


Equipment:

The Gibbs Museum provides the space and ambiance for your event. The user is responsible for renting the necessary tables, chairs, and tents at the user’s expense. 

Staff:
Gibbs
Museum staff with be on site throughout your event. Interpreters are available for tours upon prior approval. Users will be charged the group tour rate with a minimum charge of $ 75.

Rental Fee: $700
